10 Most Ridiculous Halloween Horror Movies

2. Jason X

Killer Klowns from Outer Space
New Line Cinema

It seems to be a trend that as horror franchises get more and more sequels, they get more and more ridiculous. Freddy Krueger's one-liners get cheesier, Chucky gets married and has a child, and Michael Myers gets in a Kung Fu fight with Busta Rhymes. Yes, you read that right.

Jason Voorhees is no different and even takes it a step further, venturing in to space for the tenth entry in the Friday the 13th franchise. If you think that sounds like they ran out of ideas for the masked monster, you're right. Not including Freddy Vs. Jason, it marked an eight-year hiatus for Jason, and an end to the original continuity. It makes sense as Jason X really didn't leave any possibility for a sequel because where could they possibly have went after this?

Despite its poor reception, Jason X does have some highlights. The kills are inventive (no prizes for guessing what Jason does with a head frozen in liquid nitrogen) and it's just good dumb fun. A great sleepover movie to laugh along at. If you're looking for a well-crafted sci-fi horror experience, however, you're probably best sticking to Alien.
