10 Most Ridiculous Moments In Spider-Man Movies

3. Jamie Foxx As Max Dillon/Electro (The Amazing Spider-Man 2)

Whilst there is some debate as to whether Spider-Man 3 or The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the worst Spidey movie, it's hard to argue that Electro isn't the worst villain in the franchise. Venom may have been severely wasted, but maybe that lack of screen time should be seen as a blessing rather than a curse. At least barely being in the movie saved him from complete embarrassment.

Jamie Foxx portrays Max Dillon like a nerd stereotype from the 90s with absolutely no depth in a performance that's like Jim Carrey's Riddler from Batman Forever, but with even more ham; clearly he and Paul Giamatti didn't get the memo that this wasn't a Joel Schumacher movie.

He becomes obsessed with Spider-Man almost instantly, and instead of feeling sorry for him his weird behaviour comes off as uncomfortable. It's like watching a friend give a bad performance in the school play and not being sure whether to cringe, laugh or feign acceptance.

Once he finally becomes Electro through the most bizarre of means, Dillon's motivation to kill Spider-Man comes basically out of nowhere and he basically turns into a completely different character. No real effort is made to explain how his powers work, and his downfall comes at the hands of Gwen Stacy more than Spider-Man himself. It's only fitting that the series' lamest villain isn't even taken out by the hero himself.
