8. Disney Will Make Two or Three New Star Wars Films Every Year

No one spends four billion dollars on something just because it's cool. Disney bought Star Wars because it's the most high profile property title in the world. They are going to make money on Star Wars and they have a lot of money to make back before it can be considered a profit. Hence there's not just going to be a new trilogy, there's going to be two or three films a year according to Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy in an interview she gave to Entertainment Weekly. And why shouldn't they? The original magic of Star Wars has been gone for a long time, replaced by dense prequel nonsense. If anything, news that Disney plans to breed Star Wars films like rabbits along the same lines of the new X-Men films (origin stories and spin-offs) and James Bond (never going away) should be like the heaven's parting before all fandom's eyes as a host of heavy metal angels melt their faces in a hallelujah chorus. It's going to be big. It's going to be awesome. Before we loved Star Wars, we loved Disney films too. It's safe to say the franchise is in quality hands for continuing the saga. However, beware, it will continue until Disney can no longer make money, or, put in laymen's terms it will continue until we no longer love Star Wars.
