10 Most Ridiculous Star Wars Sequel Rumors We've Ever Heard

7. Steven Spielberg to Direct Attack of the Clones

steven-spielberg-black-and-withe1 Every time, without fail, that news is announced of a new Star Wars film going to be made, someone begins shouting the name Steven Spielberg. Although there's absolutely no reason for them to do so it makes a lot of sense. A Star Wars film made by Spielberg would be awesome. The prequels certainly could have used his touch, yet once again when Episode II was on the horizon the hopeful rumors were squashed once more of Spielberg having anything to do with the movie. Surprisingly, it appears that this by no means due to a lack of trying of his part. As claimed by Steven, Lucas and him are best friends so he has always understood why Lucas has refused him the honor of leading the charge as a Star Wars film's director. To Spielberg go Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park (to name only a few) and to George Lucas Star Wars. Never the two shall meet. To this date Steven Spielberg has never had a hand in creating any of the Star Wars films. He quickly eliminated himself in the running to direct Episode VII as well. Rumor-closed.
