10 Most Ridiculous Weapons Used In Action Movies

7. Heat Seeking Bullets - Runaway

Sick Stick Minority Report
TriStar Pictures

When engaging in a firefight, there's this tempting notion to remove the guesswork of such chaotic violence entirely by making bullets that just hone in on the first warm body they can find. But of course, the problem there is that in a firefight, there are a LOT of warm bodies for the bullet to choose from.

While the method by which Runaway portrays the bullets - both saving time/money as well as adding an iconic look by using POV shots in place of actual bullets - was super creative, the fact remains that this is just a flat out ridiculous weapon for anyone to use.

We COULD make something like this - technically speaking we already have, just on WAY larger scales. But the thing is that we have to do that because heat seeking implies the ability to steer in mid-air. This will require fuel, as well as a jet propulsion system to USE said fuel. As well as an onboard computer to order the steering.

Yeah, as you can probably guess from all that, firing this gun means topping the GDP of at least five small nations with every shot. The definition of impractical and ridiculous.
