6. Someone's Down Here - Barbarian (2022)
In writer-director Zach Cregger’s Barbarian, Tess (Georgina Campbell) arrives at a rental home she booked in a rundown Detroit neighbourhood to discover that it's been accidentally double-booked by a man named Keith (Bill Skarsgård). After an uneasy introduction, the pair soon strike up a friendship. But there's still danger lurking within the house.
The next day, Tess stumbles upon a secret door in the basement that leads to a room containing a soiled mattress and video camera. Understandably disturbed by her discovery, she pleads with Keith to leave with her, but he wants to see the room for himself.
After he doesn’t return, Tess goes after him and finds another door that descends into pitch-black tunnels where Keith is heard crying for help. As she carefully makes her way through the tunnel, a terrified Keith suddenly emerges from the darkness and warns Tess that there’s something else here with them.
With Keith’s appearance breaking the tension, viewers are led to believe that the horror is over for now. However, as the pair argue about which way to go, a physically deformed naked woman runs onscreen and brutally kills Keith by bashing his head against a wall.
