10 Most Terrifying Social Media Horror Movies

3. Sissy

Sissy Movie
Shudder

Nowadays on Shudder, Sissy is a proper treat, managing to gloriously mix a joyous, warm, quirky tone with moments of intense, brutal, bloody action.

From writer/director duo Hannah Barlow and Kane Senes, this 2022 picture is anchored by a phenomenal Aisha Dee as Cecilia, aka Sissy. A popular lifestyle vlogger with a vast Instagram following, Cecilia bumps into her childhood best friend Emma during a chance meeting at a pharmacy, and our central character ends up invited to Emma's engagement party and eventually her bachelorette party.

So far, so good as these two drifted-apart friends reconnect, reminisce, and rekindle a relationship that was clearly once so important to them both. But when another old classmate, Alex, is mentioned, Cecilia has traumatised flashbacks of the bullying she received at Alex's hands all those years ago. Even worse, we discover that Alex is at the bachelorette party, and it doesn't take this A-hole long before she starts to poke fun at "Sissy" and her career.

Clearly suffering a form of PTSD from that childhood bullying, things take a turn for Cecilia when she believes she's accidentally killed Alex, which then leads to several other deaths as the social media star desperately tries to cover her tracks.
