10 Most Traumatic Moments In Disney Movies

4. Sid's Twisted Experiments: Toy Story (1995)

In the 20 plus years since its release nothing has quite managed to match the whimsical charm of Toy Story. The story of Woody and Co. coming to terms with a new toy, Buzz Lightyear, delved into themes of jealously, growing up, and friendship - all important notions for a child to explore.

Although this heartwarming tale was no doubt a favourite of yours as a kid, it isn't without moments that warrant a fast forward. One fear inducing scene sees Woody and Buzz trapped in the bedroom of the local neighbourhood delinquent, Sid.

They bear witness to the horrors of Sid's twisted experiments, whereby he mutilates toys, dismembers them and reattaches them into grotesque configurations. Among the ranks of mutant-toys was a baby-headed-crab and a jack-in-the-box hand. Horrifying.

Woody and Buzz eventually team up with Sid's twisted creations in order to defeat him, and eventually they all become fast friends. There was some kind of message about not judging mutant-toys by their appearance, but that was kind of lost in the terrifying way they're continuously portrayed in the movie.

Before engrossing myself in the written word, I spent several years in the TV and film industry. During this time I became proficient at picking things up, moving things and putting things down again.
