We all love a good sci-fi action thriller, and it goes without saying that this is one we don't talk about nearly enough. Wedlock (also known as Deadlock) was a HBO film released in 1991 and it starred the late, great Rutger Hauer in the lead role.

Set in a futuristic prison (ironically named Camp Holiday) that doesn't employ typical measures to prevent any breakout attempts and instead fits its prisoners with collars - each of which are linked to another unknown prisoner - designed to explode if they are separated by more than 100 yards, it follows a diamond thief who is imprisoned there after being betrayed by his friends. However, when he discovers who his 'Wedlock' partner is, the pair break free and go diamond-hunting.

There's something undeniably enjoyable about Wedlock that you just don't see from movies anymore. It's unapologetically fun and ridiculously ambitious, so no matter how off-the-wall it gets, you can't help but lap it up because why the hell not?.

An immersive and fun movie through and through, it'd probably be a cult classic if it had a theatrical release. But don't let that stop you from checking it out.
