10 Most Underrated MCU Villains

7. The Grandmaster

There were two big villains that gave the God of Thunder a hard time in Thor: Ragnarok. Surtur bookended the movie first in his own domain before destroying Asgard, while Hela played a big part in ripping from Thor everything he had left. However, there was another that simply doesn’t get the attention he deserves.

Older than most things ever seen in the MCU, the Grandmaster was the ruler of Sakaar, and while he proved to be an inconvenience to ‘Sparkles’, he was basically forgotten by the end of the movie but for a tiny post-credit scene. In reality however, the Grandmaster is one of the most evil characters in the history of the MCU.

He bought living beings from his scrappers and made them his ‘prisoners with jobs’/slaves, forced them to fight to the death, and killed his own cousin heartlessly and without remorse. He was a vicious dictator, but thanks to the absolute magic brought to the role by Jeff Goldblum, it is utterly impossible not to love him all the same.

While Love and Thunder is already looking like a stacked, bordering on too busy movie, no one should complain if Goldblum does manage to show his face again.
