10 Most Underrated MCU Villains

6. Thaddeus Ross

Are there any MCU fans anywhere that don’t simply despise Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross? He is easily one of the most hateable characters in the entire franchise, and though he was rather ineffective in The Incredible Hulk, he has more than made up for that since.

As one of the key players in the black sheep of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is easy to forget just how awful Ross was. His determination to catch Bruce Banner became more important to him than his own daughter, the person he was supposedly protecting from the Hulk.

His blind rage clouded him from seeing Banner as anything other than a threat, and he was even forced to create something worse in Blonsky. After an almost decade-long absence, Ross returned in a blaze of glory with the Sokovia Accords, completely ignoring the good that the Avengers did for the sake of their collateral damage.

Like Banner, he saw Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as villains, and even in the turmoil of Infinity War, after he played a huge part in breaking the Avengers up, he STILL wanted to arrest Captain America. There are some villains you just love to hate, and Ross fits that category better than he gets credit for.
