8. Sonny Burch

The villains in the MCU span from celestials and gods, all the way down to human men and women with absolutely no super powers at all. However, just because an antagonist doesn’t have the brute strength of a Thanos doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be taken seriously.
Following on from Infinity War in 2018, Ant-Man and the Wasp is seen today as one of the more average MCU movies. It is as middle of the pack as it gets, and the same label has been put on its villains. This isn’t a fair reflection of Sonny Burch.
The powerful businessman who made his money in dealing technology was unique, and the kind of villain you love to hate. He wasn’t a fan of getting his hands dirty, but instead stood by and watched as his thugs did the hard work for him.
In fairness, such a character may have come across as forgettable if not for the performance of Walton Goggins. The actor plays a great villain, and even though he was more of a thorn in the side of the titular characters rather than a genuine threat, he was still one of the more enjoyable aspects of a largely forgettable movie.
