7. What Were You The God Of Again? - Thor: Ragnarok

Who knew that New Zealand’s favourite indie director Taika Waititi would be responsible for arguably the best depiction of Thor, God of Thunder in any motion picture? The threequel’s comedic slant made Thor: Ragnarok an unanticipated hit, but what’s more is how the final film in this trilogy pushed Thor to his limits and made him face a real make or break situation.

De-eyed and pinned by his estranged sister Hela, Goddess of Death, Thor is forced into a Lion King moment with his dead dad visiting him as Hela asks the question: what were you the god of again?

Remembering his flashy ways, Thor’s reconnection with the true source of his power gives us the highly satisfying moment as he blasts himself across the rainbow bridge in a lightening storm to take out most of his sister’s undead army, all while Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant song blasts away in the background.

This is one fight scene that doesn’t take itself so seriously and still manages to be incredible.
