10 Most Wanted Movie Sequels That Would Never Work

3. Toy Story 4

Toystory4 The Toy Story trilogy is one of the most cherished and critically acclaimed trilogies of all time. They've grossed more than $1.9 billion at the global box office (plus countless more dollars in licensing and toy deals), and Toy Story 3 was the first animated film to ever surpass the billion dollar mark. Toy Story remains Pixar's best work, helped usher in a new era of animation, and has truly stood the test of time while its two sequels managed to amass the same amount of acclaim. Part of what makes the trilogy so special is its ending, which shows Andy leaving his toys with a new owner as he goes off to college. It's so perfect, and beautiful, that I'm tearing up just writing about it. For that reason, Toy Story 4 is a terrible, terrible idea. Tom Hanks dropped the bomb in 2011 that the film was in the works, but since then the studio has remained coy about addressing the rumor. We have received a handful of great little short films featuring the characters from the trilogy in new adventures, which is enough to satisfy the appetites of those who want to see Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang again. A fourth outing would do nothing but tarnish the incredible reputation that the trilogy established, and only throw gasoline on the fire of discontent coming from fans who claim that Pixar has run out of ideas and is now focusing too much on making sequels.
