10 Movie Characters Brought Back From The Dead In The Worst Way
8. Harry Hart - Kingsman: The Golden Circle
In 2014, Kingsman: The Secret Service was released in theatres and was an absolute surprise smash hit. It was fun, it was unique, and it helped launch Taron Egerton to stardom. The sequel, The Golden Circle, however, wasn't met with nearly as much praise, with one of the biggest points of contention being the return of Harry Hart AKA Galahad (Colin Firth), despite being killed off in the first film.
The return of Galahad was a questionable decision, particularly as, like Michael Myers, he had been comprehensively killed. Harry had been shot in the face at point-blank range following the iconic church scene, only for it to be revealed he was saved by essentially wrapping a cool pack around his head. He recovered from literally taking a bullet to the brain.
Arguably the most irritating part of the whole thing is that, as great a character Harry Hart was, he wasn't needed for the sequel. The torch had been passed to Eggsy, who could have worked with Merlin (Mark Strong) and Sophie Cookson's Roxy (who could have had a deservedly more substantial role in the absence of Harry) to bring down Poppy Adams (Julianne Moore).
Instead, Harry returned and almost turned the entire film into a joke. This retcon robbed his death scene from the first film of its original emotional gravitas, and he brought relatively little to The Golden Circle's proceedings to make up for it.
