10 Movie Characters Pointlessly Forced Into Sequels

1. Jay & Silent Bob - The View Askewniverse

Jay and SIlent Bob are the recurring stars of Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse. Each of the films - Clerks, Clerks II, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Strikes Back, Chasing Amy, Mallrats, Jay & Silent Bob Reboot - follow the adventures of these two numbskull potheads as they bumble around New Jersey, and beyond!

But that's not actually that true? Most of the movies are about different characters and Jay and Silent Bob are only sort of there. Each movie seems like Jay and Silent Bob are a bit more forced in, with their cameos in Scream 2 and Yoga Hosers being the worst. Well, almost the worst.

Then there's Chasing Amy, which is easily their weirdest and worst scene. After a whole film of a man pining after a lesbian - it was the nineties - Jay and Silent Bob show up to talk to him about his girl woes. One of them, Silent Bob, tells a long meandering story about how he messed up his relationship with a girl a long time ago and he hasn't been the same since.

Chasing Amy feels so different than any other film Jay and Silent Bob appear in and them showing up, unprompted, in the middle of this film, for one scene, to give the film its name, it feels so forced and pointless.
