10 Movie Characters Who Broke Their Own Rules
1. The Narrator - Fight Club
The first rule of Fight Club is that you never talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is that you never talk about Fight Club. Everyone knows this, but Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) went on to explain several other rules during David Fincher's iconic movie.
Only two guys to a fight, those coming for the first time had to fight, and among others, if someone says stop or goes limp, then that fight is over. Two of these rules were broken by Edward Norton's Narrator himself.
The first came when he spoke to Bob (Meatloaf) about Fight Club. Yes, Bob brought it up first, and so the Narrator wasn't telling him anything new, and he certainly wasn't the only one who broke this law, but there is no denying that he talked about Fight Club.
Then later, while filled with rage and jealousy over being kept out of the Project Mayhem loop, Edward Norton's character beat down Jared Leto's Angel Face to the point that he was unrecognisable. He continued to pummel him long after he went limp, breaking yet another rule put in place by himself (even if he didn't know it was himself at the time).
