5. Comic Book Nerds
What They Think: "The character just wasn't portrayed how I imagined him on the page, therefore the film must be wrong." Comic book nerds by their nature can be some of the most obnoxious film fans going; they expect a comic book movie to portray the characters exactly as they imagine them, and if it doesn't fit that schema, then it means the film is wrong and the directors should be painfully spayed. They expect films to incorporate every minor aspect of the comic book character even if it wouldn't really fit the tone of the film, meaning their demands are often unrealistic, and too frequently sound like petulant whining. While sometimes their complaints can be reasonable - such as being annoyed that Brett Ratner changed so much in X-Men: The Last Stand - it usually just seems like they're difficult to satisfy and always want more from filmmakers. Even The Dark Knight, viewed by most comic book fans as the zenith of superhero adaptations, still wasn't enough to please everyone; the fanboy backlash on that one was particularly strong.
