10 Movie Franchises That Have Backed Themselves Into A Corner

7. Already Having Achieved The Perfect Ending - Toy Story

When it was announced at the end of last year that Toy Story 4 was to become an actual thing, a large bunch of very dedicated Toy Story fans responded with distain. The reason for this, of course, did not stem from the fact that they harboured a secret hatred for Toy Story and had been pretending to like it for the sum of 20 years, but because - for all intents and purposes - they thought Toy Story 3 ended the series on a perfect note. Toy Story 3, after all, tied up everything about the franchise in the most appropriately heart-warming way imaginable. To continue the franchise after Andy has passed his toys onto another kid... well, it just seems wrong. And it will be near impossible for Pixar to reach such wonderful and inevitable dramatic heights with a storyline that takes place after the events of Toy Story 3. Having already rendered a perfect trilogy and finished it on a perfect note, the only way for the series is down.
