10 Movie Franchises That Should Die With Their Stars

7. John Wick - Keanu Reeves

Indiana Jones
Summit Entertainment

Come on guys, the name of the franchise is John Wick. Apart from recasting him (don’t even think about it, Lionsgate), it’d be pretty hard to continue it. The titular badass was first catapulted into existence half a decade ago, and now with the third movie blowing critical/financial expectations out of the water and Keanu Reeves becoming the new king of the internet, there's just no way in which the series could continue without him.

Keanu has always been known as an action star (Point Break, Speed, The Matrix Trilogy) but there’s never been an action movie quite like John Wick. Reeves stabs, hits, punches, cracks, shoots, and pretty much murders everyone in his way in his three (four?) film arc of revenge and retaliation.

The actor was 54 at the time of the third film’s release and showed zero signs of aging. Director Chad Stahelski may have made the film what it was with clean filmmaking and even cleaner choreography, but Keanu brought the character to life. Keanu may be characters other than John Wick, but John Wick will never be anyone other than Keanu.

If you talk in a theatre I'm in, be prepared to get some pretty passive aggressive stares.
