10 Movie Franchises That Will Be Remembered For The Wrong Reasons

6. As The Franchise That Dropped The Ball At The Last Minute - Spider-Man 3

Spider-Man 3 tends to get a lot of flack, but that's mostly because it consistently finds itself being compared to the awesome movies that came before it. The inherent problem with this approach, however, is that Spider-Man 3 isn't anywhere near as bad as its reputation seems to imply - people constantly berate it, but how long has it been since they actually went back and made sure that their opinions were genuinely valid? Yes, the flick is a bit of a mess, there are too many villains, and there are a good number of scenes that director Sam Raimi presumably implemented after receiving a nasty bump on the head. But there's good to be found here too, especially in the characterisation and in the action sequences. Sadly, Spider-Man 3's reputation (and its unresolved ending) has resulted in this series losing out on some much deserved credit.
