5. As The Once Great Franchise Bruce Willis Pushed Too Far - Die Hard
Before Bruce Willis made the ill-judged decision to make another Die Hard movie, having already pushed his luck somewhat with the pretty good (but nowhere near as brilliant as Die Hard 3) sequel Die Hard 4.0, the Die Hard franchise was in pretty good condition. Its legacy hadn't been tainted all that much by the fourth movie, despite the fact that it made room for a character played by Kevin Smith, for some reason. Having reduced his career to a series of poor to middling action movies that should have been released into bargain bins instead of theatres everywhere, Willis decided to return to the land of Die Hard in 2013 with A Good Day To Die Hard, a movie with a title that the man himself once admitted he didn't understand. But now when somebody says "Die Hard," you think of it as another soured '80s franchise. It nearly wasn't!
