10 Movie Moments That Pissed Fanboys Off The Most In 2015

9. Prim's Death Is Totally Glossed Over - The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II

The Moment: All hell is breaking loose and the Peacekeepers try to protect the Capitol from being overrun, as bombs are being dropped overhead to kill children close to the President's gates. Medics show up to help the injured, one of whom is Katniss' (Jennifer Lawrence) sister Prim (Willow Shields). Moments later, another wave of bombs drop, and Prim is killed. Why The Fanboys Hate It: Alright, alright, now there's only so much director Francis Lawrence could away with considering that this is a PG-13 movie, but that's only one part of the problem here. Yes, we don't need to see Prim get blown into meaty chunks for the scene to be utterly horrifying, but it feels so rushed and glossed over from start to finish. For one, Prim basically just steps into frame for the purpose of being killed, and it's mega-convenient that she shows up exactly where Katniss happens to be standing. Worse, though, is how little attention is paid to the fallout of her demise: Lawrence refuses to linger on the anguish of the moment but instead rushes through the emotional turmoil, such that neither Katniss nor the audience is ever given much time to digest it all. If we were supposed to feel devastated at Prim's death (and yes, we clearly were), then the film categorically failed, though in fairness, this has also been a common criticism of the source material.
