6. What Did The Monsters Look Like? - Bird Box

Two similar movies in premise released in 2018, and both took the world by storm. In A Quiet Place, the humans couldn't make a noise so as not to attract the wrath of the monsters that now inhabited the planet. Over in Bird Box, the protagonists were not to look at the creatures for fear of being forced to commit suicide.

One key difference between these pictures is that John Krasinski showed his monsters on screen in A Quiet Place, whereas the creatures in Bird Box were left entirely to the audience's imagination. This only added to these monsters nightmarish effect on the mind, and really it should have stayed this way.

However, since Bird Box's release, the design of the monsters that were ultimately never seen has made its way to social media. Yes, the actual image of the creatures wasn't the point, though at least with your imagination the audience can come up with something as terrifying as they like. The actual design, for want of a better word, is sadly a little boring.

The version of the monster that Sandra Bullock's Malorie saw would have been a baby-faced beast with a snake-like body, no teeth, and a bulbous head. Not that scary really, at least not compared with what audiences could have come up with in their own minds.
