10 Movie Recasts That Totally Trolled Fans

Sometimes, tragedy can cause big changes in movies, and the third Matrix flick stumbled into that. After the death of Gloria Foster, the role of The Oracle had to be recast for the "final" Matrix instalment, and thus Mary Alice stepped in. But, the characters had no trouble referencing it.

When Trinity and Morpheus are summoned to The Oracle, they are troubled by the dramatic changes in her look. The camera even lingers on their confused expressions as The Oracle sits and watches them.

In typical Matrix fashion, she then delivers some highly ambiguous dialogue explaining her new face, saying that she's sorry it had to happen and that it was a result of her choices, with very little in the way of actually elaborating on the change.

You do eventually learn the reason why her "outer shell" was so dramatically different, and it's a whole mess to do with protecting the young Sati and the evil ploys of the Merovingian. But this intro almost works hard to leave you confused.

Love them or hate them, the Wachowski's really know how to drag out and convolute what should be a very simple reveal.
