10 Movie Remakes/Reboots We Actually Want To See

9. Pitch Black

Alien was the dark to Star Wars’ light. An edgy sci-fi franchise set on distant planets where horrible creatures tried to kill you at every step was a great departure from the heartwarming family fun of Star Wars. But Alien had a few critical missteps with the disastrous Alien 3 and less-terrible-but-still-bad Alien: Resurrection. Instead, audiences were offered another option: Vin Diesel as Riddick.

Riddick is the badass anti-hero of Pitch Black and its two sequels, but the films didn’t do well at the box office and critics had mixed opinions. But now that the Alien franchise is going a bit off-the-rails, it’s surely time to bring back Riddick to be the dark side of Star Wars it always could have been. Exotic alien planets with actually-deadly fauna and more of the gritty underworld of advanced civilisations would be a nice change of pace - and more interesting than just those death sticks mentioned in the Star Wars prequels.

Ben Trangmar hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
