10 Movie Roles Actors Wish They'd Never Accepted
Looking back, they wish they'd just said 'no'.
Aspiring actors tend to take any jobs they can get. Needing experience, exposure, and cash, they don't have much of a choice in the matter, but bigger actors are constantly being sent scripts and ideas, able to pick and choose the roles they take on.
But even the most experienced of actors can make bad calls, attaching themselves to projects that are doomed to fail or signing on the dotted line to work with directors who will drive them mad. Even with plenty of research, planning, and preparation, signing up for a new job is always a risk, and these actors paid the price.
They didn't know it at the time, but when they accepted these roles, they were actually signing up for torturous filming sessions and, in some cases, major unwanted consequences that they would have to live with for the rest of their careers.
Some of them ended up making a lot of money from these movies, but many would reject that cash if they could go back in time and do things differently. These roles will be black marks on their records forever more, and some of them never quite managed to recover.
10. Jessica Alba As Sue Storm
Jessica Alba has gone on record as saying she isn't particularly pleased with many of the parts she's played, but her role in the commercially successful but critically tragic Fantastic Four movies, released in 2005 and 2007, is definitely a real lowlight for the former Dark Angel star.
Alba appeared as Sue Storm, also known as The Invisible Woman, but said that her time working on the second movie, The Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer, nearly made her quit acting altogether.
The actress complained that Tim Story, director of both films, had criticised her acting technique, saying she was putting too much emotion into her performance in one particular scene and asking her to tone it down a little. Story's criticisms made Alba question her own talent as an actress and become disillusioned with the job on the whole, and her career has never really lived up to its early promise.
