10 Movie Roles Actors Wish They'd Never Accepted
5. George Clooney As Batman
There are so many things wrong with Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin, with the director even apologising for the film years after its release. George Clooney, who starred as the Caped Crusader himself, also has major regrets about ever appearing in one of the worst-rated superhero films ever made.
The former ER star said that the poor performance of the film had potentially killed the franchise off for good, calling it a "waste of money". Batman was one of Clooney's first major movie roles and he later revealed that he was so eager to get his name out there that he didn't really think too much before signing up for the project. He hoped it could turn out to be a good move and potentially launch his Hollywood career, but things didn't quite work out that way.
Fortunately, despite having regrets about appearing in the film, Clooney has since learned to look on the bright side and said that Batman & Robin taught him to be more selective in the roles he accepted so that he could look back proudly on his body of work, rather than featuring in dud after dud.
