10 Movie Roles That Pissed Actors Off
2. Emilia Clarke - Sarah Connor (Terminator Genisys)
The fifth Terminator film, Terminator Genisys, received predominantly negative reviews from critics and fans alike, many feeling that Emilia Clarke was miscast in the role of Sarah Connor, and that she likely won the role due to her global fame from starring in HBO's mega-hit Game of Thrones.
And Clarke herself seems to get it. In the very least, she's made it clear that she didn't enjoy making the movie and was even glad that it underperformed at the box office so she didn't have to reprise the role across a planned trilogy of new Terminator movies.
Clarke told Vanity Fair in 2018 that "no one had a good time" making the movie, while adding that she was "relieved" when it didn't make enough money for Paramount to proceed with a direct sequel.
Considering that Clarke's performance in Genisys wasn't really up to par, can you imagine how much worse things would be if she was basically forced to star in two more sequels? Their cancellation was clearly for the best.
