10 Movie Sequels That Brought Characters Back In The Worst Way Possible

9. Laurie Strode - Halloween: Resurrection

Every long-running series has its fair share of retcons and fractures in the storyline, but few are quite as confusing as Halloween. In a franchise comprised of 10 films (and counting), there has been one spinoff, one reboot, and an upcoming sequel that’s set to ignore all that and focus solely on following up the original.

Unsurprisingly, initial hero Laurie Strode has seen her fair share of returns, some of them actually good and some which insulted the entire franchise. The latter example can be found in Halloween: Resurrection, which had Michael throw the character (now in a mental asylum, for some convoluted reason), out of a window in the opening act.

The worst part is that this movie came straight after Laurie already returned in a great way to face Michael in Halloween H20. The sequel immediately undid all that great work, casting its most iconic protagonist aside and creating a version of Halloween that nobody wanted.
