10 Movie Sequels That Just Copied The Original

Taken 2 is the kind of sequel you make when you can’t quite believe that the original was a success, you don’t know why it worked and you don’t know how to follow it up. From the characters to the plotting, the film misses the mark often enough to make you wonder if the filmmakers were aiming for camp.

For instance, the movie once again revolves around a kidnapping, but this time it’s Liam Neeson who’s been abducted by the relatives of the bad guys from the original and he has to rely on his daughter for help. In other words, the only person who can save the day is Maggie Grace, the least convincing action heroine since Tanya Roberts in A View To A Kill.

It all ends pretty much the same way it did in the first movie, but after a repeat viewing, certain nagging doubts persist: is Neeson playing the same character or is he just limbering up for his hilarious cameo in Ted 2?
