10 Movie Sequels You Didn't Know Were Coming In 2020

7. Sherlock Holmes 3

Sherlock Holmes
Warner Bros.

A third entry in the Sherlock Holmes series has been discussed ever since the second one opened in 2011, but it wasn't until last year when Warner Bros officially dated the movie, handing it a December 2020 release slot.

And at this point, that's basically all we know about the flick: there's no word on whether Guy Ritchie (who helmed the first two instalments) will return to the director's chair, and story details are non-existent. The only thing we do know is that the movie will be set years after its predecessors, a tidbit dropped by Jude Law, who will be returning to play Watson.

Narcos creator Chris Brancato is on screenwriting duties this time around, and Joel Silver, Susan Downey and Lionel Wigram are all returning to produce. With Avengers: Endgame just around the corner - a movie that might mark the end of RDJ's Marvel tenure - it surely won't be long before we start to hear more about the actor's upcoming projects, and you have to imagine Sherlock Holmes 3 is a priority for him.

In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
