10 Movie Sequels You Didn't Know Were Coming In 2020

5. The Croods 2

Quiet Place
Fox

The Croods - rather quietly - made a tidy bit of cash back in 2013, banking nearly $600 million worldwide and earning a favourable critical reception. But for the longest time, its sequel was never a sure thing.

A followup was first announced in late 2013, with voice actors like Nic Cage, Emma Stone and Ryan "Deadpool" Reynolds all reprising their roles. Everything seemed to be going fine, but out of nowhere, the movie was cancelled in late 2016, with studio DreamWorks reportedly unsure about the viability of the project.

Then, less than a year later, the movie was greenlit - again - and a release date was set for 2020. The original actors are still involved, with stars like Peter Dinklage and Leslie Mann boarding as newcomers, and the story will revolve around the Croods facing their biggest threat to date: another family.

So, barring another shock cancellation, expect another dose of light-hearted prehistoric adventuring in just over a year and a half.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
