10 Movie Sequels You Didn't Know Were Coming In 2020

2. Legally Blonde 3

Quiet Place
MGM

The first Legally Blonde movie is quite charming, but each subsequent sequel has been a case of diminishing returns. After a poorly-received direct followup, the third movie - a straight-to-DVD spinoff - almost saw Reese Witherspoon jump ship entirely, with the star staying on as a co-producer while her character (series protagonist Elle Woods) remained absent from the film.

That was in 2009, but ten years later, it appears Witherspoon is ready to play Elle once again. Officially announced last June, Legally Blonde 3 will open on Valentine's Day 2020, with the writers of the original film back to pen this one. A director hasn't been attached yet, but if the film wants to make its release date, that will need to be rectified soon.

Little is known about the film's story, but Witherspoon did tell Entertainment Tonight that "some returning characters" would appear in the film, and that she's extremely excited about the project. And that tells us... nothing. But there you go!

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
