10 Movie Sequels You Didn't Know Were Coming In 2020

1. Death On The Nile

Quiet Place
Fox

Sequel to 2017's stylish Murder On The Orient Express, Death On The Nile will open in October 2020, almost three years after the original. It didn't feel like the first made too much of a splash, but it actually grossed $352 million worldwide, a healthy sum considering its relatively low $55 million budget.

The original Death On The Nile novel saw detective Hercule Poirot journey to Egypt, getting involved in a deadly love triangle along the way. Presumably, the film will follow this same outline. Kenneth Branagh will be back to direct and star, with Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer joining him for the ride.

One of the most appealing things about the first film was its enormous all-star cast, with the likes of Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Daisy Ridley, Judi Dench, Willem Dafoe, Olivia Colman and Michelle Pfeiffer all having a part to play. With that in mind, expect Death On The Nile's cast to fill out substantially before it enters production later this year.

Also, expect Branagh to once again sport his majestic, gravity-defying moustache.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
