10 Movie Trailers That Don't Spoil ANYTHING

8. Jurassic Park

Even though Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park is the definitive dinosaur movie, these ancient reptiles were nowhere to be seen in the first trailer. Instead, the initial teaser centred around a mosquito fossilised in amber. At first, viewers were clueless this preview was for Michael Crichton's dinosaur-themed novel. Until the last few seconds, there is no mention of the jurassic theme park whatsoever.

Although there are no dinosaurs in the film's first preview, you'd assume you would see them in the official promo. I mean, this was Spielberg's biggest film at the time. He spared no expense. He's gonna show them off in the trailer, right?

But in the two-and-a-minute-long trailer, there isn't a single clear shot of the film's scaly stars. We get glimpses of a Triceratops' frill, a T-Rex's foot, a Velociraptor's claw, but we never a dino for longer than a second. Since the recent Jurassic World films have been criticised for having spoiler-filled trailers, it's nice to see the original film didn't give anything away and still, managed to attract cinema-goers in droves.

To paraphrase Ian Malcolm, "Just because you could show dinosaurs in the trailer doesn't mean you should".
