10 Movie Trailers That Don't Spoil ANYTHING

6. The Cabin In The Woods

The Cabin in the Woods is about a bunch of horny teenagers who... unsurprisingly, find a cabin in the woods. They use the facilities to get drunk, get high, and get down. After accidentally summoning a horde of zombies, the story devolves into a forgettable horror.

At least, that's what you would assume upon seeing the previews. First time director, Drew Goddard, crafted the most generic looking promo to blindside viewers. (He even made the title sound as uninteresting as possible!) Although the teaser sold us a run-of-the-mill hack-and-slash, what we got was one of the most creative horror films in recent memory.

Ironically, The Cabin in the Woods is a perfect example why trailers SHOULD have spoilers. Because people assumed the film would be dumb schlock, nobody went to see it! If moviegoers knew what the film had in store for them, it would've been far more successful... but the big reveal would be nowhere near as satisfying.

Drew Goddard was probably aware his vague teaser wouldn't draw as many viewers as the studio hoped but he knew anyone who bothered to watch it would appreciate it a lot more.
