10 Movie Trailers That Don't Spoil ANYTHING

3. Avengers: Endgame

The trailer for Avengers: Infinity War was commended for intentionally misleading the audience. Even though the teaser depicted scenes where Thanos had collected three, four, or five Infinity Stones, every shot of the Mad Titan showed him only in possession of two. This was done so the audience couldn't figure out the story's narrative.

The directors, the Russo brothers, are known for using misdirection to avoid spoilers so moviegoers were expecting them to do something similar for the trailer for the follow-up, Avengers: Endgame. And they were right. The promo focuses on the Avengers' hopelessness and desperation rather than showing key scenes. There are no shots of Professor Hulk or Bro Thor. No hint of the time heist. Excluding a second-long shot of Thanos' hand, the trailer doesn't even show the main villain.

Instead of being spoiler-heavy, most of the preview shows shots from previous movies like Iron Man and Captain America: The First Avenger, making the clip feel more like a celebration of the Marvel Cinematic Universe rather than a trailer. Having a preview like this felt appropriate since we were witnessing the culmination of 20 movies and a decade of storytelling.
