5. Stan Lee's Original Cameo In Guardians Of The Galaxy Was Too Much For Disney

At a Dragon*Con panel discussion featuring James Gunn and his brother Sean Gunn, the Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer and director was asked about the battles he lost with Marvel, at first stating how overjoyed and shocked he was that his Jackson Pollack joke made it into the final cut of the film. Gunn then went on to describe the original cameo he had in mind for Marvel legend Stan Lee. He would have appeared in the Collector's lair as one of the space-pervert's assortment of oddities from across the universe. As if that wasn't bad enough, when a character approached the tube Lee was being held in he was to flip them the bird angrily, something that the Marvel head honchos disappointingly but understandably didn't want representing their Chairman Emeritus (and, by extension, the whole of Marvel). It's a crying shame.
