3. The Rock Wants John Carpenter To Be Involved With His Big Trouble In Little China Remake

Though it might seem like the most terrible remake idea imaginable, and is arguably the most unnecessary Hollywood venture to have come to fruition for a long, long time, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson wants you to know that he's approaching his upcoming (and inherently ill-judged) Big Trouble In Little China remake with all the care that it deserves. So much so, in fact, that he wants you to know that he's even trying to get the director of the original movie, John Carpenter, involved. Responding to those fans who expressed their disappointment with The Rock and his decision to remake the Kurt Russell cult classic, renowned for its crazy characters and retro special effects, the actor said:
"I loved reading the reactions from the fans, that they were so polarized - I€™m the same way. My response is: know that I come to the project with nothing but love and respect for the original, which is why we want to bring on John Carpenter."
The Rock also - rather heroically - said that he's willing to give up on the concept of a Big Trouble In Little China remake if it starts to feel like a bad idea:
"Let€™s see what feels good, what we can come up with and then go from there. And as we write it, if the whole thing starts to stink up, then we thank everybody for their efforts and accept this just couldn€™t make it."
Somewhat comforting, to say the least. Thanks, Dwayne.
