10 Movie Villains Who Got Disappointingly Lame Deaths

1. Jürgen Voller - Indiana Jones & The Dial Of Destiny

Mads Mikkelsen was nothing if not perfectly cast as the final Indiana Jones movie's primary antagonist - Nazi Jürgen Voller. And given the series' storied history of dealing gnarly, unforgettable deaths to its villains, it was reasonable to expect the same for Voller.

Yet Voller went out in strangely lackluster fashion in the film's time-travelling climax, where during the Siege of Syracuse Voller's plane is shot down by soldiers believing it to be a dragon.

Moments later we catch a glimpse of Voller's burned corpse, which while mildly gross for a PG-13 movie being produced in 2023, can't hold a candle to, say, Toht (Ronald Lacey) having his face melted off in Raiders of the Lost Ark, Mola Ram (Amrish Puri) being eaten by crocodiles in Temple of Doom, or Walter Donovan (Julian Glover) promptly turning to dust in The Last Crusade.

It was a weirdly uneventful, even ordinary death for the movie's towering antagonist, and like the film as a whole, just not quite good enough to be truly memorable.
