10 Movie Villains Who Unexpectedly Survived Franchises

8. Dr. Henry Wu - Jurassic Park

Dr. Henry Wu (B.D. Wong) was introduced in Jurassic Park as the park's lead geneticist - a vital component in the dinosaurs' creation and the chaos that followed, but not inherently villainous from the outset.

Wu finally returned to the series in the fourth film, Jurassic World, where his continued dabbling in the world of genetically modified dinosaurs made him decidedly less sympathetic, especially when it's revealed that he helped create the Indominus rex as a weapon.

Wu spends the next two movies working with increasingly awful people, and by the time Jurassic World Dominion comes around, he's engineered giant locusts which allow his employer, Lewis Dodgson (Campbell Scott), to hold the world's food supply hostage.

Now, Wu does have a change of heart at film's end, but does that undo all the death and destruction that he's had a role in causing?

Though Wu's turnaround might've felt more convincing if he sacrificed himself in order to save the day, ultimately Wu survives, and it's probably just a matter of time before he finds another maniacal billionaire to get in bed with.

Given that the upcoming seventh film, Jurassic World Rebirth, will reportedly feature no returning characters from prior entries, fans are simply left to assume that Wu is doing just fine and has paid no real price for his reckless actions.
