10 Movie Villains Who Unexpectedly Survived Franchises

Cult slasher flick Urban Legend concluded by revealing that the killer was actually Brenda Bates (Rebecca Gayheart) all along, who has been seeking murderous revenge for a car accident which killed her fiancé and high school sweetheart.

Though Brenda is presume dead during her final confrontation with protagonist Natalie (Alicia Witt), the final scene hilariously reveals that she somehow survived and is seemingly plotting another killing spree at another university.

Brenda however only appears briefly in sequel Urban Legends: Final Cut, showing up for a cameo in the final scene where she's seen working as a nurse, and heavily implies that she might team up with the new killer, Professor Solomon (Hart Bochner).

But the third and to date final film in the series, Urban Legends: Bloody Mary, doesn't feature Brenda at all, leaving fans to wonder precisely what she might be up to today. 

In the very least she's presumably still alive, and with a franchise reboot being announced back in April, we can only hope the IP might get the "requel" treatment, with Brenda being brought back into the fold.
