10 Movie Villains Who Unexpectedly Survived Franchises

3. Bobby Dagen - Saw

Bobby Dagen (Sean Patrick Flanery) is one of the most detestable "victims" in the Saw franchise - a card-carrying self-help grifter who poses as a Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) survivor in order to sell more books.

The fun rub is that Bobby's deception causes him to end up in a Jigsaw trap for real, and we as the audience have precious little sympathy for the guy, who will seemingly get a fittingly violent death for his exploitative behaviour.

But because that'd just be too damn satisfying apparently, Bobby ends up actually surviving Saw: The Final Chapter, even if he fails to save any of his employees who were forced to "play" with him.

When Bobby fails his final test, to perform the very feat he lied about in his book, it isn't him who dies - it's his poor wife Joyce (Gina Holden), who seemingly had no knowledge of his lies and is roasted to death for her "sins."

While you can certainly argue that watching your spouse die is a fate worse than death for many folk, considering Bobby's highly sociopathic nature it still doesn't feel like a grave enough punishment, even with his reputation also being left in tatters.
