2. Elle Driver - Kill Bill
It seemed like an absolute given that Elle Driver (Daryl Hannah) would die a horrible death at the hands of The Bride (Uma Thurman) in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill duology.
After all, she was ranked fourth on the Bride's kill list, ahead of only Bill (David Carradine) himself, basically making her the penultimate boss for the Bride to topple.
Their confrontation certainly doesn't end well for Elle admittedly, who has her one remaining eye plucked out by the Bride, leaving her blindly scrambling around inside Budd's (Michael Madsen) trailer with a black mamba on the loose.
Though her fate is seemingly left ambiguous, cemented by a "?" next to her name in the end credits, Tarantino himself actually confirmed that Elle is alive in a 2021 interview on The Joe Rogan Experience.
Casting aside any doubt, Tarantino plainly said, "Elle Driver is still out there" when discussing possible plots for a third Kill Bill.
And considering the overpowering unlikelihood that the director's apparently final upcoming film will indeed be Kill Bill Vol. 3, it's safe to say that Elle inexplicably survived the franchise to fight another day.
