10 Movie Villains Who Were More Far Interesting Than The Heroes

2. Frank Booth - Blue Velvet

What Culture - David Lynch Dennis Hopper Blue Velvet Arguably David Lynch's most accessible work, Blue Velvet is a permanently compelling masterpiece and one of the most intense and intoxicating movies ever filmed. Much of that is down to the psychotic presence of Frank Booth, played with frenzied intensity in one one of the greatest acting performances of all time. Booth is sadistic, unhinged and takes pleasure from rape and inhaling an unknown gas. He's simply one of the greatest characters in film history and Kyle MacLachlan's poor Jeffrey is often left the victim of his many rages. Every other word is profanity and a Roy Orbison song makes him go insane, it's impossible to not find Frank Booth compelling and despite MacLachlan's impressive performance as Jeffrey, all eyes are on the late great Dennis Hopper. Frank Booth is the thing of nightmares and this hypnotic aura that surrounds him gravitates you into his orbit where you only become more and more unsettled. A dastardly iconic character born from an unforgettable performance.
