10 Movies That Changed Your Mind About Actors You Loved

4. Johnny Depp - Alice In Wonderland

For a while, Johnny Depp was so freakin' popular that he could have turned up at most people's houses at Christmas, set fire to the tree, kicked over the table and done a merry little jig, and everybody would still would have said, "That's brilliant, Johnny. Do it again!" Nowadays, he's still a formidable force of acting ability and he certainly has millions of fans, but he's also refused to break away from the samey, theatrically-inclined roles that put him on the map in the first place. Despite box office success, fans of Depp presumably drew the line with Alice in Wonderland. Which is to say, this Tim Burton-directed adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic was poised directly for Johnny Depp to take his make-up covered face as the Mad Hatter. But with this horrendous excuse for a motion picture, there was a sense that Depp had finally pushed all the quirky schtick too far. Watching him bounce around the screen had finally lost its appeal; the role was too similar to Willy Wonka, and there was a feeling that he should tackle a role that didn't require him to talk weird and wear hats for one. So now Johnny Depp is just a bit... annoying?
