5. Iron Man 4
Iron Man is considered a classic, Iron Man 2 spent far too much time laying the groundwork for The Avengers, and Iron Man 3...well, many fans still haven't forgiven Marvel Studios for making The Mandarin an English actor called Trevor! Despite that, it was still a pretty terrific film, and chatter about an Iron Man 4 persisted in the years that followed.
Unfortunately, with star Robert Downey Jr. demanding more and more money with each subsequent appearance in the MCU, he was instead signed to a deal which saw him become a supporting character in adventures like Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming before retiring for good in Avengers: Endgame.
As great as all that was, it also robbed fans of the chance to see Iron Man 4, a movie it was hoped would finally pit the Armoured Avenger against the one, true Mandarin. Now, Tony is dead, and that villain will receive the spotlight in Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, a cool move by Marvel Studios, but not the outcome most hoped for.
