This 2014 Swedish film won the Jury Prize at Cannes back when it premiered, was Sweden's entry for the Best Foreign Language Film award, and won Best Film at Sweden's film institute's Guldbagge Awards ceremony.

The film concerns itself with a family on a ski vacation dealing with the repercussions of an act of cowardice committed by the father. The remake, aptly named Downhill, has already begun production, with filming taking place in Austria in January 2019.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Will Ferrell are taking the roles of the mother and father, with Game of Thrones and original Force Majeure actor Kristofer Hivju also slated to appear in the remake. Directors Nat Faxon and Jim Rash won big back in 2011 for their screenplay for The Descendants, including an Oscar, so their heartfelt comedy chops are certainly up to scratch to pull this one off.

Chances are I’m watching a movie or replaying Mass Effect rather than doing anything productive.
