10 Movies From This Decade That Better F***ing Get Sequels

9. Dredd

DreddThe Pitch: The continuing crusade of Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) to clean up Mega-City One, with Judge Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) now serving as his permanent partner. Perhaps Judge Death might be the antagonist? Likelihood: Sadly, this one's close-to-impossible, due to the first movie's disappointing box office performance (raking in $36.5 million against a $45 million budget, though being a strong home video seller), likely a result of audience's sour relationship with the brand as a whole, due to Sylvester Stallone's execrable 1995 take. It's a shame given that the movie opened to wide critical and audience acclaim, but simply didn't find its feet with more casual cinemagoers. Though there have been vocal pleas from fans for a sequel, it seems most likely that 2000 AD will end up releasing a Dredd sequel in comic book form, a disappointment for sure, but a consolation prize at least. As for the movie, don't count on it, even if stranger things have happened. 3/10.
